Redfin

Redfin was cramped on one floor in a dark cluttered space, originally designed for a board-game company. When they signed a lease to expand their premises to two full floors they looked to Gateway Construction Services to construct the +30,000 square foot premises and work in a challenging two-phase, tenant-occupied space.  LMN Architects and mYamaguchi Architects analyzed and retooled the office layout to create a clean, uncluttered backdrop for Redfin's new branding integration.

The space now features a connecting stairway constructed of cantilevered-steel supports and Glulam-beam treads.  The stair design complements the corrugated-steel-clad boxes, reminiscent of ship containers, flanking the greeting area.  Directly adjacent is a large multi-purpose space used for their popular "Home Buying Classes" and as a welcoming place for employees to hang out for catered lunches and large social gatherings.

The open spaces are splashed with bright, vivid hues. Lounge seating is easily moveable and allows employees to choose different work styles; from highly collaborative spaces to private or solitary work environments. Redfin's branding images are clearly featured in their space and provides a connective, inspiring environment. Gateway completed the work on schedule and continues to work with Redfin on other expansions.
